- As a product of a local public school system I have seen firsthand the value of a strong education system and the opportunities it has given to me. It is vital that we work to ensure these opportunities remain in place for the students of today and tomorrow.
- Chapter 70 funding is state aid to local cities and towns specifically to help fund public schools. As it stands now the program is not fully funded to reach its target, 17.5 % of each districts foundation budget. If we can find a way to fully fund this program it could mean a significant increase in state aid to our local communities, some estimates say Belmont and Arlington could see increases close to $1 Million.
- Technology is the way of the future and without it many students will be unprepared for the jobs of tomorrow. The state needs to help promote the use of technology in classrooms and give educators the resources to use it effectively.
